Pompo, thanx for the comment.

how i photographed these churches:

- I always observe where the church faces so that I can prepare. I prefer the facade to face the sun at a low angle, about 45 degrees and below. So that means that it's either early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

- I don't usually shoot between 10 am and 2 pm because the light is not so good or the shadows of the relieves are not so good

- I wait for people to clear out or chose days where the front of the church is clear. For churches like Sto. Nino in Cebu, where there are always devotees, I use long exposures

- Photoshop is a good friend :)

hi Estan,

I'm always amazed by your photos. I am a sub too. I wonder what time of the day have you taken the photos of the church's facades(in the ebook) and also how did you manage to have clean shot, free of the people or cars in front of it?

Oh, I think I will have to take a rain check on the freebies. Ano ba yan kararating ko lang dito freebies agad aatupagin ko? :)

This is a unique blog concept. At last something worthwhile like churches as a cultural and religious heritage. Of course, I have been to other blogs about "churches" as well. That is, blogs made on the altar of how to make more money online.

And thank you for dropping by in my blog.

Hello Estan!

The Church in Carcar was presented as a case study on heritage consrvation during the Towns and Cities Conference held last November, 2008. The presentation was good indeed and the speaker actually made me think and imagine how things are going in the city and for the church itself and the other heritage houses in the area.

Say Estan, is this a book? Ask ko lang, kasi I'm interested in buying one. Having this type of book is a sure way of "keeping/preserving" our heritage.

CONGRATULATIONS...
