During Maundy Thursday, 17 April, me and my family did the visita iglesia down southeast of Cebu and it was an opportunity to check the churches damaged by the earthquake of 15 October. The San Guillermo de Aquitania Parish Church in Dalaguete is one of the badly damaged churches with major cracks at the facade and especially at the belfry that threatened to collapse anytime.

In this visit, I was quite happy that repair works have already been done. The major crack on the facade, and behind it at the choir loft have been patched up. The exterior damage to the kumbento has also been addressed. But it was the repair works at the belfry that really made me smile.

I just hope that sooner or later, these repairs will be finished and the edifice stabilized.
