The left belfry fully repaired!
Part of the churches that we visited during Maundy Thursday last 17 April’s visita iglesia I was able to photograph developments in the churches of Carcar and Sibonga which also suffered damages from the 15 October 2013 earthquake that hit Cebu and Bohol. Below are notes.
Carcar Church
Carcar Church had its left belfry badly damaged by the earthquake including the pediment that seems to have tilted forward. Fifteen days after the earthquake, the damage has been braced.
In my return trip, I was glad that the repairs have finished and the bell looks beautiful again. Inside, I was able to notice that parts of the interior have a fresh coating of paletada, including the columns. Near the altar are scaffolding around the columns too.

One column has been covered with paletada and the crack at the top repaired

The crack at this wall has also been patched
Sibonga Church
Suffering mainly with small cracks with nothing major, I was also happy to see that these cracks and dislodged coral blocks at the gothic arch at the sacristy entrance have been repaired too. The big crack also at one of the walls have been addressed.

Coral stones that have been dislodged have been returned and cracks patched up
